Seniors please
bring Mrs. Daniel one of your baby or small child pictures
to be used at Senior finale. She will return them to you. The
deadline for this is this Friday.
SENIORS DO NOT FORGET TO LET MRS. DANIEL KNOW about ANY SCHOLARSHIPS
YOU HAVE RECEIVED! THE Scholarship Banquet is in one week!!
Texas A & M University is offering a jumpstart to college Summer
Insititute June 23-27 to teach you valuable tools needed to prepare you
for college and help you be successful. This is a 5-day workshop
for which you may apply on line. $500 scholarships are going to be
given to those who attend. See Mrs. Daniel for more
information.
SENIORS- If you received a Scholarship Banquet invitation, you MUST
speak with Mrs. Daniel to let her know who is attending the
banquet with you by the end of today.
SENIORS- if you are planning to attend the SENIOR FINALE PARTY after
graduation, you need to sign up in your ENGLISH classes. If you
do not sign up, the organizers will have to assume you are NOT coming,
and prizes may NOT be provided for you. We want EVERY SENIOR to come!
If you would like to be in Student Council next year, you must go by
Mrs. Sunday's room and pick up a petition, even if you are currently in
Student Council. No petition, no membership. The completed petition is
due this Friday, May 16.
Students who have signed up to go to TJC on Thursday to take the THEA
test are reminded that you will LEAVE THE PARKING LOT at 7:30
A.M.
If you are late, you will be left behind. It is likely you
will not return before school is out. Please remember to make
transportation arrangements in case we are not back-especially if you
ride an afternoon bus. Also, if you have not brought your payment
or registration papers, YOU MUST HAVE that to Mrs. Daniel BEFORE you
leave on Thursday morning.
Friday Rusk High School participated in the SFA Biology
Achievement Exam and came away the following awards:
Biology I - First Place Team in Class 1A, 2A, and 3A
Individual winners were Tommy Marchetti 1st place winning a placque,
$100 cash prize and a College Freshman Biology text book worth
$130. Honorable mention high scores were Andy Bennette, Danielle
Goodwin, and Grace Castillo each winning medals.
Biology II - 2nd Place team from all school divisions.
Individual winners were Joey Marchetti - 2nd place winning a placque
and $75 cash prize. Jared Colville honorable mention high school
and a medal.
RHS choir will have their end of year choir concert this Thursday at
6:30 in the Rusk Auditorium. Come out and support them.
The library will be closing soon for inventory. Please turn in your
books, and take care of your fines by this Friday.
