We are pleased to inform you that the secure lockout has been lifted, and all campuses have returned to normal operations. After careful assessment and coordination with local law enforcement, it has been determined that it is safe to resume the regular school schedule.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our local law enforcement agencies, as well as our Rusk ISD staff, students, and community members for their cooperation, patience, and commitment to safety throughout this situation.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority, and we appreciate everyone’s support in helping us maintain a secure learning environment.

At this time all Rusk ISD campuses are in SECURE Lockout due to a threat that was made to one of our campuses. We are not allowing anyone in or out of the buildings at this time. The safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority. At this time, all students and staff are safe, and we are working closely with local law enforcement as they assess the situation. Hello G.W. Bradford Families! Thank you to the guardians that have filled out the consent forms. If you have not completed the forms, this means that before school staff such as nurses or counselors can provide even simple care—like placing a bandage on a scrape, giving an over-the-counter medication, or assisting a student who is upset—we must have a signed consent form from a parent or guardian. The only exception is in the event of an emergency requiring life-saving care. Consent forms need to be submitted on Skyward today. An email with the link was sent to the guardian's email on file or you can log into Skyward Family Access. We appreciate your prompt attention to this important change. During the 89th Legislative Session, many changes to public schools occurred. As of September 1, 2025, consent forms are now required for students to receive school counseling, health-related services, and participate in school clubs. G.W. Bradford Primary Families, we had an unplanned fire drill due to a false alarm today. All staff and students did an amazing following procedures and staying safe. Thank you for your support as we always put safety first.

We have created for you a one page Important Information sheet to keep on your fridge with some information to answer those frequently asked questions! Be on the lookout for your printed copy to save at home.

Please do not wait until the last minute to enroll NEW Pre-K and Kindergarten students! In order for our office staff to be able to approve all documents in a timely manner, we ask that you submit your paperwork as soon as possible. If you cannot bring documents, you can submit them online, but make sure it is a non-blurry and a complete picture. We want everyone to be able to complete enrollment and then the registration part (2nd step) by Meet the Teacher, so please finish enrollment by July 24th in case there are any issues the office staff needs to resolve.
