We are pleased to inform you that the secure lockout has been lifted, and all campuses have returned to normal operations. After careful assessment and coordination with local law enforcement, it has been determined that it is safe to resume the regular school schedule.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our local law enforcement agencies, as well as our Rusk ISD staff, students, and community members for their cooperation, patience, and commitment to safety throughout this situation.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority, and we appreciate everyone’s support in helping us maintain a secure learning environment.

At this time all Rusk ISD campuses are in SECURE Lockout due to a threat that was made to one of our campuses. We are not allowing anyone in or out of the buildings at this time. The safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority. At this time, all students and staff are safe, and we are working closely with local law enforcement as they assess the situation. We will continue to keep you informed as more information becomes available. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Our students have been relishing the challenge and working dill-igently to prepare for STAAR! This week's Big Dill winners are truly a big dill! Keep up the great work, RIS students! You're all kind of a big dill! 💚

Rusk Intermediate and GW Bradford Primary are without power due to damage from high winds. The power is not expected to be restored until later tomorrow and therefore both the Intermediate and GW Bradford campuses will be closed on Wednesday March 4th.
