Dear RES Families, Today, our campus participated in a district-wide “Secure” emergency action that was initiated out of an abundance of caution. During a Secure, all exterior doors are locked, and normal activities inside the building continue as usual while we ensure that students and staff remain safely inside. Our students and staff responded exactly as expected, and I am proud of how calmly and responsibly everyone followed safety procedures. If a Secure situation occurs, a sign will be placed on the front entrance door. Once a Secure is initiated, entry into or exit from the building will not be allowed until the situation is resolved. We want to ensure guardians understand that students cannot enter the building or be left unattended outside during this time. If doors are secured during morning arrival, parents or guardians should remain with their child until staff members are able to safely bring students inside or provide further direction. Depending on the situation, if a Secure occurs during afternoon dismissal, student departure may be delayed until the area is determined to be safe. The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. Practicing and responding to these safety measures helps ensure that we are prepared to act quickly and effectively whenever needed. We are pleased to inform you that the secure lockout has been lifted, and all campuses have returned to normal operations. After careful assessment and coordination with local law enforcement, it has been determined that it is safe to resume the regular school schedule.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our local law enforcement agencies, as well as our Rusk ISD staff, students, and community members for their cooperation, patience, and commitment to safety throughout this situation.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority, and we appreciate everyone’s support in helping us maintain a secure learning environment.

At this time all Rusk ISD campuses are in SECURE Lockout due to a threat that was made to one of our campuses. We are not allowing anyone in or out of the buildings at this time. The RES FCS Easter Egg Hunt was a huge success last Wednesday! Our students had an egg-cellent time hunting for eggs, sharing smiles, and celebrating together. A big thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this event possible. Your generosity and support helped create a fun and memorable experience for our students!

🎸 RES Rocked the STAAR! 🎉 The RES Rock the STAAR Pep Rally held last week was full of surprises and unforgettable moments! Our 3rd grade teachers kicked things off with an awesome rock performance, the Rotation teachers brought the laughs with a fun skit, and our amazing PTO helped us pull off the ultimate surprise… a Dad Minion Dance! When the dads came out for their performance, the students were completely shocked after the big reveal. The gym was full of excitement and smiles everywhere! Thank you to everyone who helped make this pep rally one to remember. Our students were ready to ROCK the Reading STAAR and will soon rock the Math Test!
