We wish you all a very Merry Christmas from our RES Admin Team!

Mr. Bayless' little elves got crafty this holiday season!

Rusk ISD will be on break from Dec 19th-January 6th. We wish all our families a safe and happy holiday break!

🎄 A fun-filled House Hoedown — Texas Christmas style! 🎄
What an incredible day giving our kids first-hand experiences with animals, a chuck wagon, bull riding, line dancing, horsemanship, and more. They even got to enjoy some Texas favorites…Blue Bell Ice Cream and Dr Pepper! A day full of learning, laughter, and Lone Star magic!
Today was possible thanks to special planning by Mrs. Bowling and Mrs. Sunday, our amazing vendors and volunteers, and our RES PTO! A big shoutout as well to our supportive staff and teachers who collected waivers, guided classes, and helped students transition smoothly and safely from station to station. We are grateful for every hand that made this Texas-style House Hoedown such a success!

Smiling’s our favorite… especially with Buddy the Elf! 😄

Thank you to our incredible RES PTO for the wonderfully delicious apple treats! 🍎 We appreciate you for always spoiling us!

🎄🎅🎄

There’s no joy like December at our elementary school! 🎄✨
To make this month extra magical, we’re counting down the 12 school days of December, and each day will have a fun holiday theme. We challenge students and staff to be present all 12 days to participate in the Perfect Attendance Staff vs. Student Dodgeball showdown! Who will claim the victory...our amazing students or our dedicated staff?

Hard work pays off! Today students earned their reward for 100% class perfect attendance during MAP testing week. Way to show up and shine! 🌟

❤️🤍 Candy Cane Day at RES! Bringing all the peppermint sparkle and holiday fun!

Celebrating one of our own! Congratulations to our SFA Student Teacher/RES Paraprofessional. Today the campus came together to honor her upcoming graduation and shower her with teacher gifts. What a special day for a truly deserving future educator!

Congratulations to our very own SFA Student Teacher and RES Paraprofessional! She has been an incredible asset to our team and has stepped up with confidence and heart to lead Mrs. Griffith’s class in her absence. We are so grateful for her dedication and leadership!

Whether they chose Santa’s cheer or the Grinch’s glare, our students brought the spirit!

Our PTO has organized an amazing Holiday Shop this giving season! They’ve created a wonderfully organized space where students can shop for their loved ones and this year, they added a special bonus: a student wrapping station where every gift is wrapped and tagged with care. 🎁✨
I can’t thank our PTO volunteers enough for the abundance of love and joy they bring to all of us at RES!

Hunger For Love was very appreciative of the donations of warm clothing items. Thank you for helping FCS in this service project. ❤️

Thank you to The Daily Grind for bringing joy to our day!

Thank you to all of our parents, students, families, and community members who came out to support our 2nd Annual Singo Bingo! Even with so many holiday events happening, we still had a fantastic turnout and such a fun evening together.

A very special thank-you goes to our PTO and our PTO House Leaders for organizing the event, preparing the House-themed baskets, and being such an essential and supportive part of making this night a success. We are grateful for your continued partnership and commitment to RES!

Thank you to the Cherokee County Retired Teachers Association for awarding Mr. Coach Ian, our RES PE coach’s assistant, an academic scholarship to support his pursuit of a degree in Elementary Education. I was honored to attend the recipient luncheon with him.
Mr. Ian and I are longtime classmates who grew up together in this very community, life- long friends, now colleagues and fellow educators. He is an extraordinary individual: an incredibly talented musician and entertainer, a natural motivator, and someone who connects effortlessly with kids.
This year he has taken on many new and challenging roles, and I’ve been so proud to watch him shine. His future as an educator is bright, and this scholarship is a well-deserved step toward the exceptional teacher he’s on his way to becoming.
❤️❤️An extra-special moment during the luncheon was getting to visit with Coach A, a longstanding educator and true Rusk Elementary School legend who faithfully served as the PE coach for many years and left big shoes for those that followed to fill. I was able to capture a photo of him with Mr. Ian, two generations of RES coaches in one frame. It was such a meaningful moment to witness and preserve.
