It’s time to SHINE, RES! ✨🎉 We’re wrapping up the quarter with our favorite: 🎉 Shine Time + Hype House Day! This is a special opportunity to recognize our students’ hard work, growth, and success in and out of the classroom. Let’s celebrate BIG and show off that house pride! Wear your house colors, bring the energy, and get ready to hype each other up as we honor all that’s been accomplished this quarter. We are so proud of our students and the effort they put in every single day. Let’s finish strong, RES!

A special visit made for an unforgettable day at RES! 🚔🐾 Officer A, Officer Nick, and K9 Papi stopped by one of our classrooms this week, and the excitement was through the roof. Mr. Bayless’ students have been watching Officer A during his daily rounds, full of curiosity and questions and Tuesday, he made good on his promise to come visit. He didn’t disappoint! Thank you for taking the time to connect with our students!

Rusk elementary school field day is a long favored tradition. This year the torch was passed to Coach Ian, and him and his team did an outstanding job. The kids were all smiles and so many memories were made.

It’s HATCH Week at RES! 🐣✨ Our classroom chicks are officially hatching, and the excitement in the room is absolutely contagious! From quiet anticipation to joyful squeals, our students are getting a real-time lesson in life cycles, patience, and the miracle of new beginnings. There’s nothing like watching learning come to life right before their eyes. Experiences like this are what make elementary school magic. {Thank you to Farm Bureau for the donated incubators provided to the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension-Cherokee County office for our use, Muddy Boots Farm egg donation secured by RES, and additional eggs donated by Brandee Wofford with Mud Creek Mercantile and Alaina Brooks with Little Brooks Farms secured by the AgriLife Extension.}

Save the date for our upcoming RES Easter Egg Hunt hosted by FCS.

Due to adjustments in our testing schedule, RES will conduct Mock Testing on Wednesday, March 4th. Please note that RES will have a closed campus on this day and will not allow outside lunch guests to ensure a focused and secure testing environment for our students. I apologize for the oversight in not including this date on the digital flyer previously shared on social media. Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we prioritize our students’ success.

Did you know that March is Youth Art Month? This month we will be sharing ways that art education helps our students grow as learners and supports their core academic areas.

For example, participating in art helps students creatively solve problems. When they make a mistake in our art class they are encouraged to figure out a way to turn their error into something else rather than toss the whole paper.
