Without our nation’s veterans, America wouldn't be the great nation it is today. Our youth deserve to learn about our rich history, traditions and the role of our veterans in creating and shaping America.

The 3rd Grade UIL Ready Writing students posed for a group photo before entering the competition room to show off their creative writing skills.
All in all, I couldn't be prouder of the way these students dedicated time to practice each week. I’m confident that their personalities and creativity shined today through their writing! 🌟

“The Kindness Crew” treated teachers and staff to a snack and drink this week to help lift their spirits and put smiles on their faces.

Regular attendance is imperative to ensure success at school. 2nd and 3rd grade students who had perfect attendance for the first semester were placed in a drawing to win a hover board. The first semester recipient was Ryder!! 🎉 He was speechless!
{Perfect attendance is defined as zero absences, zero tardies, and in attendance all day long. A student must be in attendance at school from 8:00 until 3:20 to earn a perfect attendance award.
At RES perfect attendance awards are given at the end of each quarter and at the end of the year. Additionally we celebrate classroom perfect attendance throughout the year.}

Last week, Third graders learned about Brenham's Creamery and the business of manufacturing ice cream. Students were able to take a recipe, measure ingredients, and create their very own ice cream samples. They also got to showcase their creative side by designing their own ice cream shop. Making connections doesn't get any sweeter!!

Mr. K’s class had a colorful time as they tie-dyed socks with Mrs. Cahalane to celebrate winning the top 3rd grade class for the 1st quarter with highest attendance percentage. 🎉

We are all different, but we all count! {What a wonderful “Leadership Book” class activity for the book “Zero”!}

Coding with Ms. Starkey was a challenging task that the students were eager to conquer! Put simply, coding is giving instructions to a computer using a language that computers can understand. Coding in elementary school is creating the workforce we need for the future!
