Students at RIS have been working hard on their End of the Year Class projects!
4th graders have been conducting a biography project in Social Studies. They chose an influential person in History to research and make a presentation for their class.
While 5th graders in Ms. Brown's room did a novel study in class over The Secret Garden. Each group made a diorama of their favorite scene in the book and presented it to their peers. Their projects are now displayed in our Library!
Way to go Eagles!

Yesterday was Bus Driver Appreciation Day!!
We are so thankful for all of our transportation staff for always going the EXTRA MILE for our students!
Thank you for all that you do!

Thank you for sending forms and fixing piles, poring through the paper piles. Completing tasks with time to spare, keeping track of what goes where. Placing orders for supplies, staying calm when tensions rise. Typing e-mails and reports, handling crises of all sorts. Taking calls throughout the day, and being great in every way!
HAPPY ADMINISTRATORS PROFESSIONALS DAY MRS. GOFF & MRS. THOMPSON!!!
You two are, no doubt, the glue that holds this school together and we don't know where we would be without you!
Thank you for always going above and beyond for our staff and students! We love you both!!

We are making plans for our Friday student programs next school year. In order to plan appropriately for staffing, facilities, food, and busing we need to determine how many students will be participating. If you might be interested or know your student will be attending these events, please take a moment to answer these questions.

Rusk ISD
Skyward Password Update!
In an ongoing commitment to protect data and to improve Skyward
security features, changes will be implemented to our Skyward system
regarding district passwords through an update Thursday night. This
password update procedure is a requirement from Skyward, our software
provider, and it applies to all users.
On Friday, April 21, 2023, when district users (Employees, Guardians
and Students) log in for the first time, you will be required to enter your
current password twice. This will prompt the system to review your
password to check to see if you currently meet the updated Skyward
security requirements. If your password is already secure you will be
allowed to log in as normal. If not, the system will require you to change
your password to a new password that will need to be at least 8 or more
characters in length and include both upper and lower case characters.
Once you change the password, you will be able to access your account.
Thank you for your help in keeping our data secure.

Tomorrow (Tuesday, April 17th) kicks off our very first day of STAAR Testing with 5th Grade Reading!
Our students have worked so very hard at preparing for this day!
We know they will CRUSH it!
Please make sure you get a good night's rest, wear comfy clothes to school tomorrow, and bring your water bottle.
Parents and family, remember that tomorrow and Wednesday our campus will be closed to visitors, personal deliveries, and lunch guests.
Please call our campus at 903-683-1726 with any questions.
Good luck, Eagles! We believe in you and love you tremendously!

5th grade student, Dylan S., has officially written and published his very first book!
Dylan began writing this book in February. Once completed, he decided he wanted to have it published. With the help of his mom, they set out to discover the process of having his work published.
This month, Dylan's new book "Powers", made its debut on Amazon.
RIS is so very proud of Dylan's hard work and this huge accomplishment!
Great job, Dylan!
